For New riders and those who have been riding around and always thought about joining but keep putting it off..........

The amount of good work that BCCOM ( LINK-- BC, Coalition of Motorcyclists, looking out for motorcyclists since 1985 in BC Canada ) does to HELP YOU ......the motorcycle rider here in BC , is something you shouldn't just take for granted . BC has a pretty good riding community and world class roadways to enjoy , but that enjoyment comes with a price . The coalition looks out for our best interests wether you ride a Custom Chopper , a Goldwing or a Ducati HyperMotard.......Below is a list of the Accomplishments they have made on our behalf ( some are no small feats ) , give it a read and maybe check the link above if your interested .

Lobbied to have motorcycles included in High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lane usage

Assured loading and group rate discount (6 or more bikes) on BC Ferries

Continued victories regarding questionable motorcycle related tickets

Responsible for having May designated as Motorcycle Awareness Month

Established a road hazard reporting/follow-up system for BC Roads

Established designated motorcycle parking in various municipalities

Fought and won against NO GO zones for motorcyclists in Vancouver

Helped establish and maintain off-road riding areas

Helped set guidelines for U-Built motorcycles

Worked with manufacturers to form the Motorcyclists Confederation of
Canada (MCC)

Successfully lobbied against No-Fault insurance

Freedom to wear the helmet of your choice

Achievement insurance rollbacks for 2 consecutive years

Let's hope we can bolster the ranks of BCCOM this year and the next ......don't forget , even if you don't pay for a membership , you can still support in other ways ........( show up for rallies etc...)

*** Hopefully we can make this a sticky for the new riders , it may take them a while to join , but even if we can just put it in the back of their minds ......

I am not sure what helmets they mean , maybe the so called "novelty" helmets that they tried to outlaw ?? Hopefully Adel or gang will see this and let us know , as now I am curious too

That is almost unheard of in North America ....
