Default Advice for new riders

After street riding for around 15+ years now , and watching traffic volume increase steadily over that time , best advice I can give is (A)-- take a course if you can afford it ( Pacific Riding School » Welcome to Pacific Riding School or Welcome To Action Motorcycle School - 25 years of excellence ) what you learn may save your life one day , (B)-- respect the bike , no matter the size(cc) , a 250 still goes 100km/h and if you hit a telephone pole ........ . Even go watch a motorcycle class in progress , pick up on the common mistakes and maybe get a few free pointers from a friendly instructor ( not as friendly when it's raining ) Here is an interesting safety video --

Yes, I couldn't agree more with all the above.
I've only heard, and read, positive reactions from new riders that have taken the course. Times have changes since jafkaf started riding, and especially since I got my first "real" bike 25+ years ago.
