I am getting excited about the upcoming drag race season. Western Canada has the pros with CMDRA CMDRA - Canadian Motorcycle Drag Racing Association. They have an interesting street bike shootout as well. This is where anyone can "run what they brung" once it passes tech. There are a number of races in Mission, Ashcroft, Edmonton and Medecine Hat, AB.
In northern BC, there is a four race series in Terrace. Motorcycles are encouraged to come out for some real "grass roots" drag racing. You never know what you will be racing in Terrace. Those guys will race ANYTHING, even snowmobiles and quads! There are some fast Busa's or a B-King, even some serious lay down bikes. Terrace is an 1/8th mile and a great place to start. Better plan on camping there cuz it's a real good time at any event. Terrace Drag Race Association
Houston is a favorite of mine cuz it's 1/4 mile. This is always a good show at this three day event. Friday nites are an informal test and tune. There is always a great burnout competition and some heavy fireworks. There are nearby accomodations but the real party is in the pits after the races on Sat nite.

Last year we had the Kitimat Hill Climb It was the first time in a long time that they had this event. It was wild. There is nothing like starting out on a bit of an incline. They call it the hillclimb because you race up a mild grade on pavement. You have to pay close attention not to roll back off of the starting line. It is a short race but very competetive. Traction was the thing that leveled the playing field giving anyone a good chance of winning. There is more info on the Terrace site.
