Hi! I'm hoping to find some people to ride with starting last week of March. (I am away for a course for 2 weeks...) I got my license 4 years back but didn't end up getting a bike. Last Spring I bought my baby...2006 Honda Shadow Spirit 750
...but the battery had problems and I also had confidence issues. I live in Yaletown and I'm hoping to ride when traffic is minimal to start... All the best, Karin |

to BC Riders Tara_Rei ![]() ![]() .That's a nice bike you've got there girl and good for you that you took some extra lessons. We have quite a few cruiser riders on here, and I'm sure they wouldn't mind you tagging along.

Karin , you should get out to ride in the Valley , backroads of Langley, Abby and Mission etc..... get away from all the traffic downtown , most rideouts begin out here anyways ( 200th and #1 ) , exception being rides to Pemberton -Duffy Lk , or the Sunshine Coast . My bike is not road ready yet but when it is , your more than welcome to join us , we have 2 new riders in our crew this season so we will be doing some mellow rides to start off this year.
I will be posting rides up as soon as I am road ready , including some all-day "loop" trips , and 1 or 2 overnighters ..............hopefully WildBillers and I can do the Gold River Run again , that is a great overnighter . Cheers and welcome to the site .................

![]() This will be my 4th season on a bike! I may ride a sport bike but do not like to race around. I prefer the mellow "Get there in one piece" kind of riding myself. JafKaf81 is right though about getting out to the Valley for some riding experience. I often ride to work, when my bike is on the road, which gets me from Mission to Vancouver daily so i see the difference in traffic from the Valley to Vancouver. We would be more than happy to ride with you! JafKaf81 is the one who was patient with me and taught me little tricks and tips! ![]() ![]()

I live in Yaletown as well and am always happy to help out a fellow biker get there confidence up. I am easy going but ride to a strict code that has kept me safe for 11 years. I have ridden a bike in places like Australia, New Zealand, Europe and the UAE. Anytime you want help let me know.

When the weather changes, I'll be organizing some evening rides out to Sixth & Gilchrist in Tsawassen, where Orion Hutchinson was struck by Monty Robinson. As the purpose will be to increase the public awareness of this, we will be riding slow and very visibly (think funeral procession!), so no problems for a new rider. A few friends and I also run a 'group ride for newbies' up to Buntzen and Belcarra some evenings - nice twisties, good practice, no traffic. I'll post them up here.

Hi Everyone (And particularly LegalAlien for emailing me to let me know people had responded to my post...)!
Thanks so much! I'm really looking forward to getting on my bike and would love to meet you and ride with you when I get back into town! Scott...especially if you are in Yaletown, I'd love to connect sometime soon! Please keep me posted on the opportunities! XOXO Karin |

The 20th looks like it will be sunny, a friend and I are thinking of a newbie ride down to Gilchrist in Tsawassen and over to Crescent Beach after for coffee and snack or maybe lunch, depending on the weather and time. We'll probably start out in Burnaby and can take a route that goes near other riders who want to join. Post up if you're interested along with an easy place to meet.
