The world's most powerful production motorcycle.
Quote:
The small Rimini-based Italian company is currently best known for producing the Bimota Tesi 2D, but the company's latest projest is the Vyrus 987 C3 4VV naked superbike. It's more powerful than Ducati’s Desmosedici RR, MV Agusta’s F4 312RR, Suzuki’s Hayabusa or Kawasaki’s ZZR1400. It runs a 211 bhp supercharged 1198cc 1098R Ducati engine, weighs just 158 kg. There are four Vyrus variants: - The base model 984 C3 2V with a 100 bhp two valve 1000DS air-cooled Ducati engine.
- Next up is the 985 C3 4V with a 155 bhp 999R water-cooled Testastretta Ducati engine.
- Number three is the 155 kg 987 C3 4V with a water-cooled 1098R 1198cc Ducati engine producing 184 bhp.
- And at the top of the list the 987 C3 4V Va with a 211 bhp supercharged 1198cc 1098R Ducati engine, holding the title of being the world’s fastest production motorcycle.
This is what Alan Cathcart had to say about the bike:
Everything about the Vyrus seems refined. After a handful of laps I remembered the mindset you must adopt to get the best out of a hub-center motorcycle: Hold the bars lightly and stay off the brakes until what seems suicidally late. This bike is so confidence-inspiring and well balanced there seems no limit to how hard you can push it in corners. Even if you try to make it shake by moving the handlebars, you can't. And there is no steering damper fitted.
