Everybody had one of those moments that you were showing off, being cool or at least thought you were totally in control of your bike and/ or your surroundings. Not!
Now, after years, you have recovered from this moment and you, your friends, family and bystanders have all forgotten about it. This is the time to proof that you came out stronger, we would like you to relive the moment. Let us feel your pain. Here is mine: Many moons ago, when I was in my mid twenties, I went to Great Britain on vacation with my bike. At that time I was riding a Yamaha XV1ooo, also known as TR1, a 1000 cc, 72 hp V-twin. A nice big bike that I had spiffed up with a Krauser luggage rack complete with the big hard shell cases. Everything went on the bike: tent, sleeping bag, foam mattress, pots, pans, burners, cloths, everything. You can imagine that the bike was heavy, heavy, heavy. The country roads in England are narrow and most of the time there are continuous hedges on both sides. Beautiful! Anyways, one day I was riding along and came to a left hand corner in the road. Narrow road, hedges, vacation, so I wasn't going fast to begin with. When I got closer to the corner I started to slow down, I noticed on the other side of the road a drive way from a house and a restaurant packed with customers enjoying their drinks outside on the sunny deck. All of a sudden, as I was approaching the corner, a medium seize dog came charging out off the driveway. And of course, the animal lover I am, a slammed on the brakes and came to a beautiful, controlled, emergency stop without hitting the dog. All the people on the restaurant's deck, sipping away at their drinks, must have been very impressed. Till the moment that my top heavy bike started to lean over and I, with bike and a ton of luggage started, in slow motion, to fall over. End of glorious moment! Your turn. Keep it coming!
