Linkbacks, Tags, Thingamajigs

I'm getting too old for this s#!t.
Anybody familiar with our new feature "Linkbacks"? I just read the whole explanation about Linkbacks, Trackbacks, Pingbacks and Refbacks. It's all Chinese to me, even the Spell Checker doesn't recognize them. So, have you used it before, do you have an example?
And what about "Tags", how does that work and when do you use it?
